Course outline

This degree will equip you with the practical skills required to be successful in the new economy. You’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a series of internships and placements where you’ll be able to apply your knowledge to practical business situations and problems. You’ll develop a holistic view of business from strategy through to implementation, and the skills you learn will ensure that you graduate confident and ready for a successful career in business. Co-created with industry to deliver the skills you need for the future, it will transform your thinking on responsible, sustainable enterprises that succeed in the rapidly changing business climate. You will apply core business and commerce skills, including accounting, economics, management and analysis to 21st century challenges, guided by academics with industry experience and hands-on, practical projects. You can choose from over 20 majors, so whether you want to be an accountant, economist, manager or entrepreneur, start here and customise as you go. You may also wish to combine two majors according to your interests. Plus, every business student has the opportunity to take a local study or internship experience, as well as participate in BusinessPLUS, which offers mentoring and workshops including networking and career mapping. Note

Griffith offers a number of admission pathways to your preferred degree. If you don’t meet the minimum ATAR/selection rank for this degree, you will automatically be considered for a place in the Diploma of Business/Bachelor of Business. This means you may receive an offer into the Bachelor of Business which is conditional on successful completion of the Diploma of Business at Griffith University. Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Business you will be transferred into the second year of the Bachelor of Business program. Visit the Griffith University website for more information. Fast-track options are also available by studying over three trimesters. Honours: After completing your first two trimesters, you can transfer into the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) subject to criteria.

Languages are available as a second major or a minor: Chinese, French*, German*, Indonesian*, Italian, Japanese, Korean*, Modern Greek*, Russian*, and Spanish. *Via cross-institutional study.

Combined diploma/degrees

Depending on major, this program can be combined with the following courses at TAFE Qld: D Event Management; D Business/D Marketing and Communication. Refer to entry for the diploma under TAFE Qld. Applicants applying to commence in Trimester 3, 2023 also need to meet the following subject prerequisite: Any General or Applied English subject (Units 3 and 4, C).
