Minimum age requirements

You must be the age listed below, or older, to study at the relevant institution.

CQUniversity Australia 17 by 1 November 2019 for semester 3, 2019 entry, 31 January 2020 for semester 1, 2020 entry or 1 July 2020 for semester 2, 2020 entry. Applicants under 17 who don't have a completed Year 12 qualification may only be considered for admission if their qualifications and level of attainment are acceptable
Griffith College 17

Applicants must have completed Year 12 or turned 17 by 1 October 2019 for trimester 3, 2019, 1 February 2020 for trimester 1, 2020, 1 June 2020 for trimester 2, 2020 or 1 October 2020 for trimester 3, 2020

Domestic applicants under 17 will not be considered for entry to Griffith programs unless they have completed:

  • Year 12
  • An AQF certificate III (or higher) qualification and all admission requirements

Applicants under 16 should contact Griffith for further details.

International applicants who are under the age of 17 at the time they would commence their studies are not accepted for admission.

James Cook University 17 or completed Year 12
Queensland University of Technology

Applicants are required to have either completed Year 12 or turned 18 by 20 March 2020 for semester 1 or 14 August 2020 for semester 2

Applicants under 18 will not be considered for entry to QUT unless they have completed:

  • Year 12
  • An AQF diploma (or higher) qualification
  • at least one full-time year of degree study
SAE Creative Media Institute 17 or completed Year 12
Southern Cross University Applicants who are under 18 years of age as at 1 March 2020 for semester 1 and 2, 2020 who do not have a completed Year 12 qualification may only be considered for admission if their qualifications and level of attainment are acceptable to the relevant Head of School
TAFE Queensland Year 12 or attained Year 12 leaving age
The University of Queensland No minimum age however students who will be under 16 years of age by the term start date must have their enrolment approved by the Faculty and the Academic Registrar. Students who do not receive this approval may be offered a deferred place.
University of New England 17
University of Southern Queensland 17
USC 17 or completed Year 12
