Course outline

The Undergraduate Certificate (Nursing) provides you with foundational knowledge and skills related to the broad field of healthcare with a focus on nursing. Covering both practical and theoretical realms, in this course you will learn about: law and ethics as related to healthcare; anatomy and physiology of the human body; person-centred care and partnerships in nursing practice; and the key attributes of the registered nurse in contemporary practice.

You will learn in a highly supportive environment and have access to a suite of services designed to help achieve your study goals and advance your career.

The QUT Offer Guarantee does not apply to this course. Deferment is not available.

Combined diploma/degrees

Upon completion of this undergraduate certificate, you will be automatically offered a place in the Bachelor of Nursing. Each of your undergraduate certificate units will be credited to the degree.

Prerequisites

Applicant must be 16; Completion of Year 12 or attained age 18 years

Additional entry requirements

You must have attended and satisfactorily completed at least 6 years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English. At least two years of this education must have been between grades 7 and 12. This education must have been completed in one of the following countries; Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America. If you have not met these educational requirements, you are required to provide evidence of an acceptable English Language test.
