Other requirements

Students must meet the Inherent Requirements to complete this course. Professional experience placement is an essential part of the Bachelor of Nursing. There are several mandatory requirements must be completed as part of the clinical placement process. The mandatory NSW Health Verification Requirements and UNE requirements for professional experience placement must be completed by week 8 of the first trimester of study, including a record of vaccinations and/or serological confirmation of protection, and current National Criminal Record (Australian or Overseas if international student) and Working with Children checks. Students must pass Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) or any other relevant hurdle assessment, before attending placement, and must also have a nursing uniform and personal protective equipment.

Candidates must complete 800 hours of professional experience placement (Rules (a), (c), (d) and (e)); 640 hours (Rule (b) EN); which is undertaken in each trimester in health facilities in NSW.

The last date to apply (and submit documents) is by 7 December 2023. The 21 December 2023 Offer Round is the final QTAC offer round that UNE will be making offers in for 2024 entry into the Bachelor of Nursing. Contact the UNE Future Students Team on 1800 818 865 for more information.

Additional entry requirements

Applicants from a non-English speaking background including Australian citizens are advised that this course has a higher English language requirement than many UNE courses. Refer to une.edu.au/study/international/eligibility/english-language-requirements for information on how to meet these requirements.
