Course outline

This course will support students in launching a successful career in the information, communication and technology industries. It enables students to acquire valuable experience through a supervised paid industry placement, typically of three months duration. The placement is an opportunity for students to earn while they learn, put theory into practice, and develop industry networks. Accredited by the Australian Computer Society, students will have the choice to major in application development, business analysis, or cyber security as well as a comprehensive choice of minors reflecting emerging fields of IT. Note

Students may choose to exit the degree early after completing a number of units and graduate with an Associate Degree of Information Technology or Diploma of Information and Communications Technology.

Other requirements

Students undertake a compulsory paid industry placement. The normal duration of the placement is three months. Students may need to travel to and arrange appropriate accommodation in the location of the placement. English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years
