This course prepares students to become building surveyors and certify buildings of all classes in the residential and commercial sectors. Students learn to evaluate and assess plans, conduct inspections, issue building permits such as occupancy permits, and interpret building and construction regulations. Students develop skills and knowledge in building infrastructure audits, fire safety design, construction legislation, building materials, inspection procedures, professional practice and communication. Students benefit from the flexibility to study this course part-time and via online study. This allows students to work in the industry while they study, and gain practical experience that further enhances their employability.
