Course outline

Physiotherapists work with people who have problems with their cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal or neurological systems. By learning the necessary skills to optimise movement and function, they will help people overcome movement disorders, either present at birth or associated with ageing or life-changing events. Students undertake clinical placements throughout the program, starting in year one. Fourth-year students undertake four to six placements of five weeks’ duration, encompassing a range of clinical physiotherapy areas including musculoskeletal outpatients, neurology and cardiorespiratory plus a selection of specialised and/or elective areas. Other requirements

Students undertake at least 1000 hours of professional experience across four years. Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); One of Chemistry, Biology or Physics (Units 3 and 4, C)

Additional entry requirements

Applicants who have undertaken higher education study at bachelor level or higher with one full year completed are considered on the basis of the selection rank from that study.
