Students must complete a minimum of 60 days of supervised professional experience, completed as full-time blocks as program approved. Most of this experience must be completed in a Queensland school. Students must undergo a criminal history check and obtain a Suitability Card (Blue Card) before the first professional learning experience; refer to institution. Students undertaking an Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program are expected to undertake and meet the benchmark in the Personal Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Educators. Prior study; Teaching Personal Statement; Teaching area study requirements
Completion of a non-education bachelor’s degree (AQF Level 7) or equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 4.0 from a recognised tertiary institution, which includes the equivalent of at least one full-time year of study in areas relevant to one or more learning areas of the primary school curriculum. Applicants from a non-English speaking background must attain an Academic IELTS score of at least 7.5 with a minimum of 8.0 in speaking and listening and 7.0 in all other subtests, obtained within two years prior to the commencement of the program.
