Physiotherapists are health professionals who focus on the restoration of function to improve quality of life. They assess and diagnose problems with human movement, then plan and administer treatment to restore function or minimise dysfunction after disease or injury. Studies include health science subjects, anatomy/physiology, and specialised areas such as movement analysis, manual techniques, exercise prescription and therapeutic massage. Clinical placements ensure students apply theory to practice in a range of settings, including rural, remote, tropical, national and international contexts.
