Discover how science can solve current and future medical, environmental, industrial and technological problems and launch a dynamic career in this field. With this course, students benefit from hands-on, practical learning experiences both on campus and in the field. The first year of the course will provide students with a foundation for a career in the biological, analytical and agricultural sciences and prepares them to major in applied biology or applied chemistry. Students will benefit from field trips to a variety of destinations, such as coral reefs, intertidal and terrestrial ecosystems, mainland vegetation communities, agricultural enterprises, mine and other land degradation sites and freshwater and estuarine environments. Students will also have the option to undertake a work placement as part of the course, allowing them to network professionally whilst studying. For more course information, visit Bachelor of Science.
Students studying online will be required to attend compulsory residential schools for some units.
Applied biology; applied chemistry.
Depending on units selected, students undertake either an industry placement or a short research project for 120 hours. Prior to a work placement or internship, a prospective employer may require students to undertake health or security checks. For full course requirements, visit courses at CQUniversity.
