Course outline

Combine an interest in economic theories and principles with a comprehensive specialised knowledge and sophisticated application of mathematics. Select a specialization from over 60 mathematics and statistics courses. The economics studies focus on business economics, economic policy, economic history, econometrics, environmental and resource economics, financial markets, labour economics, health economics, international trade and development, macroeconomics and microeconomics. Build skills in advanced mathematics to solve data driven problems in the physical and biological sciences, engineering, information technology, economics and business.
Apply these skills during practical industry placements or internships through UQ’s local and global networks. Graduate with high-level quantitative and analytic skills for a career in business, finance, international development, health, human resource management, marketing, management and research and emerging scientific fields.
