Course outline

This dual degree combines the practical and theoretical requirements of a professional engineering qualification with the skills to effectively manage a wide range of business and technology environments. Topics covered include accounting, economics, law, marketing, business and strategy. Students will learn about software engineering, design, mathematics, information systems and more. Through the information technology component, students benefit from a hands-on, project-focused program, based on international standards for computer science and information systems. Students are prepared for a career where they’ll be able to apply technical skills to solve problems, support innovation and improve communication between people. Note

Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C) is recommended for this program. Students without Specialist Mathematics or equivalent may be required to undertake preparatory courses which may not enable the program to be completed in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.

Majors

Engineering (Hons) Specialisations: chemical engineering; civil engineering, electrical engineering; mechanical engineering; mechatronic engineering.
Information technology: Refer to Bachelor of Information Technology.

Other requirements

All engineering students must complete 450 hours of engineering professional practice prior to graduation.
