If you want a hand in designing and implementing the software systems our society depends on, this degree is the ideal path for you. You’ll begin with a solid foundation in mathematics, computer systems, engineering principles and information systems. In your second year, you’ll explore computer algorithms, object-oriented programming, business analysis, computer network essentials and more. As you progress, you’ll gain vital exposure to fields such as mobile app development, network security and project management. You’ll also address the key social and professional issues facing software engineers today. Griffith was one of the first institutions in Australia to offer a degree in software engineering—we first received accreditation in 1996. We’ve drawn on that extensive history to create an industry-relevant learning experience through which you’ll gain valuable skills as you complete work developing software for real clients. In your final year, you’ll spend more than half your time engaging in work-integrated learning. For more course information, visit Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) at GU.
