Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre

There is more than one way to get into your dream course.

Don't start from zero, apply with your life experience.

It doesn’t matter when you graduated or what your rank was. Between secondary school and now, you have already gained life experience, and maybe more. Read a little more about the ways you might be able to enter into your dream course here:

Don’t remember your rank, or don’t want to? Not all courses require one. If your dream course does, and you don’t know if your rank is enough to get through the door, the following can be added to your rank to obtain entry and meet requirements:

  1. STAT and employment pathways are other qualifications you can use to apply for further study.
  2. Enabling programs and bridging courses help satisfy a subject prerequisite or improve selection ranks.
  3. Competency-based training demonstrates your ability to perform a certain task.
  4. Queensland Senior External Exam allows you to receive a Year 12 qualification if your didn’t finish high school.
  5. Tertiary study is when your study a different tertiary course to improve your selection rank.
  6. Professional qualifications and defence and emergency services may give you a selection rank.
