Do you want to understand how food can be used to improve people’s health and wellbeing? This program develops knowledge and skills in the fundamentals of nutrition science. It’s designed for professionals working in the allied health, fitness or wellness industries, as school teachers, or in hospitality, community health or physical education, who want to upskill in the field of nutrition. It’s also the perfect starting point for a career pathway in human nutrition and food science.
In this program you will learn the science behind food and anatomical uses, paddock to plate, the science of eating to fight disease, food composition and nutritional needs across the lifecycle. The certificate is offered as part time only ie. two courses per semester. The Undergraduate Certificate in Nutrition provides a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Nutrition at UniSC – University of the Sunshine Coast.
