Ready to start your career in education? Do you enjoy working with children and young people in their learning journeys? This certificate gives you an introduction to education and the professional work of teachers.

In this program you will develop foundational skills and knowledge for teaching in primary education settings. You’ll learn about child to adolescent development, planning for learning, developing and creating technology-enhanced resources for teaching, and improve your own literacy, numeracy and ICT skills and knowledge. Note

Students will complete a 10 day Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) within this program. Students must have a valid Suitability Card (Blue Card) before commencing professional experience; refer to institution. On successful completion of the University Certificate in Education (Primary), and subject to meeting all other entry criteria, you may receive up to 48 units of credit towards UniSC – University of the Sunshine Coast’s Bachelor of Primary Education program.

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years
