This online or on-campus course prepares you for the full range of Primary years teaching (Prep-Year 6) with a strong focus on building academic capacity, personal development and a love of learning within students. It provides a full range of education, curriculum and pedagogical studies infused with value-rich Christian perspectives and offers opportunities for additional specialisations in English or Mathematics. Extensive professional experience placements are available across all education sectors and localities within Australia. Our aim is to develop you into an inspirational and transformative educator.

Students complete 85 days of supervised practicum during the course. Students may have to travel and incur costs associated with travel and accommodation. Students are generally placed in Brisbane and south-east Queensland, although placements are available further afield. Students experience at least one placement outside Brisbane and are encouraged to consider rural placements. A Blue Card is required, refer to institution. Students must undertake and meet the benchmark for the Personal Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Educators (LANTITE) to progress to the second year (full-time equivalent) of the course.

Applicants must have completed a three-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0, not in education or in a course leading to teacher registration. Previous degree must include at least eight semester units (one year full-time equivalent (FTE)) relevant to one or more learning areas in the primary school curriculum (English, mathematics, science, humanities and social sciences, the arts, languages, health and physical education, and technology).
