Take control of your career with this high-level course and develop the highly specialised skills and knowledge required to become an electrical engineering technician. In this course students will develop the expert skills needed to design and validate electrical equipment and systems. Students will be able to work in areas including electrical design, project management, process control, variable speed drives and programmable logic controllers. The Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology – Electrical can be combined with other programs as listed below to attain the awards of Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology – Electrical from TAFE Queensland and the relevant degree from the university. Students undertake initial study at TAFE Queensland and complete the degree at the relevant university. Duration, location, mode of study, semester intake, electives and specialisations may vary. All mandatory university admission and English language requirements must be met before university enrolment is finalised. For more information contact the relevant university. Note: TAFE Queensland students making transition to the degree may need to wait six months to start with the semester one university intake.
To apply for a combined advanced diploma/degree, applicants must select the Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology – Electrical for the relevant TAFE Queensland location on their application and nominate their preferred degree/university (one only). Applicants can list the stand alone advanced diploma or the combined program but not both. Listing more than one is not needed because they have the same eligibility and ATAR/rank requirements.
