Diploma of Nursing (HLT54121)
Mater Education - South Brisbane

Course outline

As Queensland’s only accredited, hospital-based, independent Registered Training Organisation (RTO), we develop and deliver our own course material, in a world-class simulation facility and excellent learning environment, supported by a team of expert clinicians and educators. Our Diploma of Nursing students learn contemporary best practice and have a rare opportunity to gain experience across some of Mater’s exceptional hospitals and healthcare services, and our carefully chosen hospital, aged care and community care partners. The program is comprised of 20 core units and five elective units, from a range of specialties including diabetes, oncology, maternity, anaesthetics, research and more. The curriculum integrates all core competencies of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Enrolled Nurse Standards for Practice. The program ensures the central focus is on enrolled nursing practice and providing competent, safe, patient-centred care.
