Course outline

This diploma allows successful students to transition into the Bachelor of Education by providing the prerequisite knowledge and skills required to meet entry requirements. Upon successful completion of the diploma, graduates will enter the degree with credit into Secondary Education. Students develop critical and reflective thinking skills in order to understand the complexities of what it means to be a teacher in today’s world. Upon successful completion of the diploma, graduates enter the degree with credit. Completing the Bachelor of Education students meet the national accreditation requirements of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership. Note

Subject to satisfactory completion of the Diploma of Educational Studies and meeting the Non-Academic Requirements for Teacher Entry (NARTE), students are eligible for up to 60/70 credit points into the Bachelor of Education at Griffith University. The amount of credit available depends on the choice of major within the degree. Contact Griffith College for more details.

Other requirements

A suitability card is required; refer to institution. Students undertaking an initial teacher education program will need to successfully complete the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) to graduate from the bachelor program. Students are permitted three test attempts in total for each component. If students fail three test attempts for each component, they will not be able to graduate.
