Course outline

SAE’s Diploma of Computer Science equips you with key foundational skills and technical knowledge you need to begin your career in the technology-based industry of your choice.

Covering the fundamentals of computer science, you’ll build a skillset in scripting and automation, web development, data structures, IT and cyber security, and programming.

Your growth and development as a technology-driven computer science practitioner will be assessed through the completion of industry-based projects. This will ultimately help you build up a body of work and portfolio to share with potential employers or your first client.

To complement your technical skills, you will graduate with employability skills, introductory project management skills, and scholarly techniques for higher education.

Within a matter of months, you’ll learn the fundamentals of computer science, setting you up for entry into junior industry roles using modern concepts and strategies and positioning you for future computer science studies such as our Associate Degree or Bachelor’s program.

Areas of study: Human-Computer Interaction, Scripting and Automation Fundamentals, Project Design and the Entrepreneur, IT and Cyber Security Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Computer Networks, Data Structures and Algorithms, Programming Foundations, Front-End Web Development.
