Students are introduced to key professional areas providing support to personal and community wellbeing, including counselling, psychology, social work and various human services areas. This program familiarises students with the key social and political agendas that shape this complex human services landscape and introduce the roles, responsibilities, skills, aptitudes, attributes, values and capabilities needed to successfully navigate the complex field of social service. Social and human services are about making a difference in the lives of others. This diploma is an identified pathway into the following UniSC – University of the Sunshine Coast degree programs: Bachelor of Counselling; Bachelor of Human Services; Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology); and Bachelor of Social Work. On successful completion of the diploma, students are eligible for entry into, and receive 96 units of credit towards, their selected pathway degree.
