The degree will give students the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to become a successful primary teacher, with a primary teaching specialisation as mandated by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), in English/Literacy in the Inclusive Classroom. This course is accredited with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA).
The course includes 100 days of supervised school experience in block placements of three to seven weeks and 10 days of online professional experience. Students must complete a number of requirements prior to undertaking a professional experience placement; refer to institution for details. In Queensland, a Blue Card is required. Teacher education students must pass the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students before their final-year professional experience placement; visit Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students Fact Sheet for more information.

The Bachelor of Special and Inclusive Education (Primary) will give you the skills and qualification necessary to future proof your career in special and inclusive education. You will gain the knowledge and experience required to secure a teaching role as a:
primary teacher in an inclusive setting in a local primary school
primary teacher in a special class within a local primary or special school
special education teacher in associated professional areas such as disability services, employment support, respite care and early intervention.
