Course outline

If you have a strong interest and passion for science and a desire to pursue a career in science research or industry in the Biological, Environmental or Earth Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics, this science research focused course if for you.

You will be immersed in research from first year, engaging with world class researchers and facilities and will develop your research skills through years 2 and 3, leading to a substantial independent research project in your final year. Through the degree you will develop strong discipline knowledge, competence in practical, quantitative and research skills and be well prepared to undertake a PhD.

Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 and 4, C); Chemistry (Units 3 and 4, B); Applicant must be 16; Completion of Year 12 or attained age 18 years; No prior study

Additional entry requirements

Applicants must be a 2023 Year 12 student or a recent Year 12 student returning from up to two gap years.

Assumed knowledge

Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C); at least one of Agricultural Science, Biology, Earth and Environmental Science, Marine Science or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C).
