Course outline

Study this course to gain the skills, knowledge, and experience to assess, diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders. Accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council (APC), graduates will be eligible for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia. The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) involves extensive professional practice experiences where students will gain practical and relevant experience and opportunities to apply their discipline knowledge and skills to real clients. Education and training will focus on ways to prevent injuries and promote health and well being – skills that are highly valued within the industry. Note

This course is not offered via distance education, however, students will undertake some units via distance education and will be required to attend compulsory residential schools.

Other requirements

This course involves extensive practical experience, both through university-based units and clinical education placements that are embedded into the course. In the third and fourth years students are expected to undertake five clinical education placements, each of five weeks duration. To participate in clinical placements, students must meet the security and health requirements. The COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory to be eligible to attend a work-integrated-learning placement for this course.  For full course requirements, visit courses at CQUniversity.

Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); One of Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Health or Physical Education (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years
