Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Standing)
Griffith University - Logan

Course outline

Nursing is the science of professional caring, and offers opportunities to promote and restore health, prevent illness and alleviate suffering. You’ll develop the key knowledge and skills required to provide excellent nursing care. You’ll develop your skills through clinical placements across the health sector and you may have the opportunity to undertake rural, remote and overseas placements. You’ll learn from leading experts, with Griffith ranked No. 1 in Australia and No. 2 in the world for Nursing and Midwifery in the 2021 Shanghai Ranking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Students acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies to practise as registered nurses, with a focus on clinical practice and critical thinking. The program involves studies both on and off campus and clinical experience in a variety of nursing practice situations. Graduates are eligible to apply for entry to Griffith’s specialised nursing postgraduate programs. For more course information, visit Bachelor of Nursing at GU.

Note

Admission via the Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Standing) pathway is competitive as the number of applicants generally exceeds the places available. Diploma of Nursing applicants will be required to complete the Nursing Admission Questionnaire as an additional selection criteria. Students can take this program part-time but attendance at day classes is generally required. Part-time students must be available full-time for professional placements.
