Course outline

The Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business is designed to enable students to gain entry into the legal profession combined with business knowledge and skills. Throughout the course, students will learn about legal procedures and key legislation, develop skills necessary to identify, analyse and evaluate facts in relation to legal frameworks. The core areas of the law degree match those required for admission to the legal profession including statutory interpretation, criminal law and procedure, contracts, torts, constitutional law, equity, administrative law, property, company, evidence, professional responsibility and civil procedure. Students may also choose to major in accounting, financial planning, human resource management, management, marketing or property. Other requirements

Depending on the units studied, students may have the option to complete a business internship in this course. This will take the form of an industry placement. Students may also have the option to complete an overseas, domestic practicum placement, or engagement with a complex work simulations as part of their studies.

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years
