Study human services and bring real change to people’s lives. This degree will equip you to work with individuals, families, and communities. You will learn from experts with links to health and community sectors, and government and non-government organisations. You will learn about human services in Australia and develop the knowledge and skills needed to build a better future for individuals and families in need, younger and older people, and persons living with disability. Through the course of your studies, you will develop a clear and insightful understanding of the principles of social justice, empowerment, and social inclusion. You will learn through hands-on experience as you undertake a professional placement in your final year of study. Students can enrol in the Distance Education offering of the program and will be able to complete the program off-campus by distance learning via our online learning management system online with the exception of three compulsory five-day face-to-face intensive on-campus courses.
This program can be combined with the following course at TAFE Qld: D Community Services. Refer to entry for the diploma under TAFE Qld. Refer to entry under Griffith College for: D Social and Psychological Science/B Human Services.

In this program, you will spend 400 hours (four days per week) in the work/professional environment during trimester six of the full-time program or equivalent. Placements may be outside of the Brisbane metropolitan/Gold Coast area including Northern New South Wales and (by negotiation) interstate or overseas.
