You love movies? You want to make movies? UniSQ’s Bachelor of Film and Screen Production puts you in the driver’s seat of the global film and television industry. This industry is currently massively expanding thanks to the demand for media product with the likes of Netflix, Disney, Amazon Prime, YouTube TV and Hulu. Students enrolled in this degree will develop high level professional skills in film direction, producing, camera, sound, lighting, editing, digital composing, scriptwriting and visual effects. We will create a graduate who has universal knowledge and skills in the world of film and screen production that can be employed anywhere – Brisbane, Sydney, New York, London, Paris and beyond. This degree was designed in collaboration with industry professionals to meet the most stringent industry requirements. Students will gain a thorough grounding in the practice, skills and knowledge of film and screen production by actively engaging in making films, documentaries, television programs and other media product. We have strong industry links, with current academic staff who are all award-winning industry professionals. Work placement opportunities, mentoring programs, master classes and guest lectures with industry specialists is a feature of the degree as well as the opportunity to submit your films to national and international film festivals. Only the Screen Production major is available via the online study mode.
It is a requirement that Queensland-based students hold a current positive notice indicating that they are deemed suitable for working with children and young people whilst studying the Bachelor of Film and Screen Production. Whether it’s working in the camera department, the production office, the editing suite or in the director’s chair, our graduates will have a wide selection of employment opportunities throughout the global film and television industry. Career possibilities include film director, cinematographer, media manager, digital film editor, feature writer or production manager.
