In this dual degree students combine exceptional financial acumen and commerce expertise with specific practical and theoretical understanding in engineering, and graduate with a valued skill set that will place them in high demand with employers. In the engineering component students develop technical skills through a core specialisation, which will form the basis of their career. In the commerce component, students gain knowledge and an understanding of business value in various environments. Students complete a range of compulsory courses that cover concepts relevant across the financial services sector, including topics such as accounting, information systems, economics, business law and management. Students graduate with a combination of core commerce skills, specialist knowledge, and critical evaluation and problem-solving abilities. Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C) is recommended for this program. Students without Specialist Mathematics or equivalent may be required to undertake preparatory courses which may not enable the program to be completed in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
