Course outline

This program helps students to develop the skills, knowledge and experience of an engineer to enable them to deliver practical solutions to real-world problems. Students can apply their knowledge through practical work experience and a final-year research project to encourage valuable industry experience in engineering. Students have the choice of a range of specialties in addition to acquiring skills in problem-solving, analysis, design, construction and management. Note

External students must attend at least one, week-long, residential school in Toowoomba during most years of the program.

Majors

External: agricultural engineering; civil engineering; computer systems engineering; electrical and electronic engineering; environmental engineering; instrumentation control and automation engineering; mechanical engineering; mechatronic engineering; power engineering.
Toowoomba: agricultural engineering; civil engineering; computer systems engineering; electrical and electronic engineering; environmental engineering; mechanical engineering; mechatronic engineering; power engineering.
Springfield: civil engineering; electrical and electronic engineering; mechanical engineering; mechatronic engineering.

Other requirements

Students must complete 60 days of work experience in an engineering workplace.

Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Mathematical Methods (Units 3 and 4, C)

Additional entry requirements

Applicants must nominate on their QTAC application one preferred major of study.
