This course provides the first step towards a career as a registered psychologist and a foundation for careers where an understanding of human physical and emotional behaviour would be an advantage. Students choose areas of study that are of specific interest. Elective units include organisational psychology, forensic psychology and the law, human sexuality, family therapy, and alcohol and drugs. Students develop skills in social and developmental psychology, research methods, perception and cognition, counselling, and psychotherapy. Units can also be taken from other areas in the university, including science, criminology, creative industries and business.
