CQUniversity - Online

Course outline

Through the Associate Degree of Building Design students will build the perfect career foundation to plan and design buildings, ranging from residential homes to medium-rise commercial buildings up to three stories. This includes restoration, renovation, unit development and extension work. Students develop the skills to become confident in design and documentation, construction, structures, building materials and services, professional practice and communication and the key principles of sustainability. Recognised by industry, students will develop practical skills through completion of design-based projects and authentic assessments that reflect real practices. Successful completion of this award satisfies the educational requirements for the Building Design – Medium Rise license, issued by the Building Services Authority, Queensland. This course is offered part-time allowing students to work in industry while studying. Students have the option to continue their studies and complete the Bachelor of Building Design at CQUniversity.
