Course outline

Make a difference as a Registered Nurse with UniSC’s Bachelor of Nursing Science. Engage in immersive, hands-on learning from your first year, combining clinical simulation, virtual reality environments, and electronic medical records with extensive placements across hospitals, aged care, community, and primary health settings. Study across multiple campuses and learn in small, supportive cohorts. Graduate confident, practice-ready, and eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

If you already hold a bachelor degree, you may be eligible for the accelerated two-year pathway, Bachelor of Nursing Science (Graduate Entry Pathway).

This program is currently undergoing accreditation assessment by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) and approval assessment by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This program includes compulsory placements in settings that have vaccination requirements.

Credit for Enrolled Nurses: Students may receive credit transfer (of 8 courses) if they hold current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nursing (Division 2) (General) without restrictions/conditions and have completed a Diploma of Nursing from an accredited Australian education provider within 10 years prior to admission. Evidence of AHPRA registration must be provided with the application.
NOTE: Applicants who do not have current registration or hold current registration with restrictions etc, no credit transfer will be granted. If the diploma was completed more than 10 years ago, a current resume must be supplied with the credit application for consideration of credit.

Other requirements

Before undertaking a clinical placement, students must obtain and maintain a current first aid and CPR certificate, comply with QLD Health vaccination requirements, provide evidence of hepatitis B immunisation, undergo a criminal history check and obtain a Blue Card; refer to institution.
