Do you aspire to become a doctor and make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities? UniSQ’s Bachelor of Medical Science (Medicine Pathway) is a dedicated pathway into medicine and the undergraduate component of the Darling Downs South West Medical Pathway. Delivered through a unique partnership between UniSQ, The University of Queensland (UQ), Darling Downs Health and South West Hospital and Health Service, the pathway provides end-to-end medical education and training, developing the next generation of doctors for rural, regional and remote Australia. You will build strong foundations in medical sciences while developing capabilities in diagnostic sciences, digital health, research, population health, healthcare advocacy, cultural safety and First Nations health. Through practical laboratory experiences and authentic learning opportunities, you will develop the knowledge, skills and professional capabilities required for future medical training and contemporary healthcare practice. You will also study within a dedicated cohort of future medical students and build the critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills required for success in medicine. Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Medical Science (Medicine Pathway) and satisfaction of pathway progression requirements, you will gain direct entry into UQ’s Doctor of Medicine, delivered through the UQ Rural Clinical School, Toowoomba.
