Course outline

The Acting Diploma with Major in Music Theatre at JMC equips students with the underpinning skills and knowledge to apply the foundation acting principles to a performance, to develop creative and collaborative performance concepts and provides the necessary educational and academic framework to enable further study.

The Diploma comprises of the first two trimesters of our Acting Degree program, providing an exit point for students wishing to develop the introductory skills of acting as a pathway for further learning. The highly practical course allows you to gain an introductory level of a wide range of performance and voice skills – and put them into practice across both stage and screen.

Note

You may be entitled to credit for prior learning, whether formal or informal. Formal learning can include previous study in higher education, vocational education, or adult and community education. Informal learning can include on the job learning or various kinds of work and life experience. Credit can reduce the amount of study needed to complete a degree. JMC credit transfer and recognition of prior learning

On completion of the Diploma Program, graduates can continue on in the program to complete the Bachelor’s Degree (2 years). All JMC Bachelor Degree graduates are eligible to apply for entry into JMC Academy’s Master of Creative Industries, or relevant post-grad qualification at any Australian university.

Fee notes

Domestic students have the option of paying tuition fees prior to the commencement of each trimester or deferring payment through FEE-HELP.
