Course outline

This diploma will prepare students to protect the health of communities as an environmental health worker or technician.

Students will develop and understanding of the foundation concepts and principles in chemistry, biology, microbiology, climate and health. They’ll examine the principles of law, legal processes, and statutory interpretation. Explore legislation, regulations and policy that protect the health of humans and the environment, and engage with complex systems thinking and socio-ecological determinants of health. Learn food safety and environmental health risk assessment principles and processes

Successful completion provides an articulated pathway to become an accredited environmental health officer through completion of the Bachelor of Health Science (Applied Environmental Health).
