Course outline

Students will broaden their horizons and expand their employment prospects by combining studies in Music and Arts. They will develop their creative practice as a musician and gain the theoretical knowledge needed for a successful career performing, composing or researching music. The degree foregrounds practical music-making with individual lessons, a wide variety of ensembles, instrument and voice workshops and masterclasses with internationally acclaimed visiting artists. The Bachelor of Arts gives students key skills employers today are looking for – leadership, creativity, problem solving critical thinking and communication – and offers a wide choice of subject areas in the humanities, arts, social sciences and languages. Students can choose majors that complement their music studies or broaden their knowledge in other fields. For more information, visit Bachelors of Music/Arts at UQ. For more information on the audition process, visit UQ School of Music.
