The Bachelor of Health Science (Western Herbal Medicine) in Western Herbal Medicine offers specialised knowledge and application of Western Herbal Medicine, as well as a foundational understanding of nutrition. Learn to formulate herbal prescriptions using medicinal plants from around the world and how to consult with clients.

You will gain hands-on experience at The Practice Wellbeing Centre, consulting with members of the public, under the guidance of experienced Western herbal medicine practitioners. Your study as a Western Herbal Medicine practitioner prepares you for a career in private practice and your skills are transferrable to community health settings and technical roles in the growing complementary medicine industry.

Industry partners and work placements:

This course has a requirement of 460 hours of work-integrated learning.

Work-Integrated Learning and clinical practice hours require 100% attendance. On campus clinical subjects require compulsory weekly attendance with online study mode offering intensive workshop attendance. Student practitioner clinic placement hours are conducted on a weekly basis during the 12 week trimester. Students will also have an additional 180 hours in pre-clinical learning, case analysis and clinical assessment.

Work placement hours :460 hours of work-integrated learning.
