The Bachelor of Education (K-12 Teaching) is a dual sector teacher education course that offers two career pathways for graduates. It is an undergraduate teacher education qualification that encompasses working in both primary schools and secondary schools. The course is accredited with the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) and has been designed to meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

The professional understandings and abilities learned in this degree are valued by the broader community. Students develop their skills, knowledge and attitudes to become a successful teacher and a member of one of the largest professions worldwide.
The course includes a primary teaching specialisation as mandated by the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). All candidates complete a national primary specialisation in English/literacy and, depending on the secondary teaching area selected, students may also complete one of the following NESA primary specialisations: mathematics, science and technology or a language. Students completing a NESA primary specialisation receive a NSW Department of Education code on their teacher registration documentation which may advantage them for future employment in NSW Government schools.
