Course outline

Some courses in this program are scheduled to be offered at the Treasury Building at our Brisbane City campus in 2027. If scheduled opening is delayed, courses may be delivered all or in part at our other Brisbane locations.

This double degree gives you the freedom to explore the areas of science you’re most passionate about while developing the data expertise needed to turn information into insight. You’ll shape your science degree your way, mixing disciplines and building skills that prepare you to solve complex problems across science, industry and research. Your science studies begin with a broad foundation before progressing into your chosen major. You’ll study science where nature is your classroom, reinforcing concepts through practical lab work and field experiences in unique natural environments. These hands-on experiences build lab competency and analytical skills that employers value. In data science, you’ll learn to code, analyse and model data to support informed decision making. You’ll work with real datasets, tackle industry-informed challenges and explore how data can be responsibly managed and protected. In your final year, you’ll complete applied projects designed to strengthen your employability. Your capstone experience may involve research collaboration, extended fieldwork in your major or an industry placement, giving you firsthand experience in professional science and data roles.
