QTAC has established a standard of operational excellence for providing equitable and accurate assessments for tertiary admission, which since 1975, has earned us a reputation for delivering exceptional service to our applicants and institutional stakeholders. Like the partners, institutions and community groups we work with, we believe that success comes from empowering individuals to make informed decisions that lead to lifelong learning and personal growth.

As a forward-thinking organisation, QTAC always seeks and engages in additional commercial opportunities Australia-wide, to ensure that individuals can make transformative decisions that shape their future. Over the last few years these opportunities have included the facilitation of the Rural and Regional Scholarship Program and the delivery of the highly successful Defence Industry Internship Program.

QTAC’s leadership team are committed to driving innovation, creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture, and delivering outstanding results for our partners.

QTAC is a not-for-profit company focused on connecting people with opportunities. We are driven by our charitable purpose of enabling greater participation in education by minimising the barriers to applying for tertiary study.

Thanks to the experience and vision of our team, we’ve been introducing innovative programs, technology and solutions and expanding the breadth of our services. This diversification is helping drive more revenue towards our purpose of making opportunities more accessible.

With a governing Board comprising representatives from 7 Queensland Universities, the Board is responsible for determining QTAC’s strategies for operations, future development and oversees risks and regulatory activities which are actioned through the business by our exceptional leadership team.

Chris Veraa

Chris Veraa has led QTAC since 2024, bringing a combination of strategic vision, education sector experience, and personal passion to the role.

With a career spanning leadership positions in tertiary education, government, and media, Chris is deeply committed to driving innovation and delivering lasting impact for QTAC and the communities it serves.

Prior to joining QTAC, Chris was an Associate Vice-President at CQUniversity, with responsibility for leading the institution’s operations in South East Queensland. He has also held senior roles in the Victorian and Queensland governments and with Australian Catholic University.

Chris holds an Executive MBA from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor of Communication from Griffith University. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves as a non-executive director of API Leisure & Lifestyle and the Gregory Terrace Foundation.

Lisa Silver

Lisa joined QTAC’s executive team in 2021, bringing over 12 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across a diverse range of industries and organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Prior to QTAC, Lisa held the position of General Manager of Operations at a legal firm in the heart of Brisbane, Queensland, specialising in commercial litigation, insolvency, and debt recovery.

Prior to QTAC, Lisa held portfolios in finance, resourcing and business operations within health, accounting and banking industries of a national and global scale. Bringing over 12 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across a diverse range of industries and organisations in private, public and not-for-profit sectors.

Here at QTAC, Lisa’s portfolios include account management, corporate affairs, human resource and executive initiatives as well as general operations.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Business Management (Human Resources) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Queensland, and is a CPA accredited through CPA Australia.

Chris Jack

Chris Jack is a seasoned customer experience leader with a passion for building high-performing teams and delivering seamless service across complex environments.

Since joining QTAC in 2013, Chris has led major operational and strategic transformations to enhance the applicant experience. As Chief Experience Officer, he oversees QTAC’s contact centre, assessment services, and marketing functions, bringing cohesion to the end-to-end customer journey and driving outcomes aligned to QTAC’s values of service excellence, innovation, and relevance.

Chris’s career spans leadership roles in both government and the private sector, including managing a 300-strong contact centre team for the Queensland Government and earlier customer operations roles with RACQ. Across all roles, Chris has demonstrated a deep understanding of how organisational systems, people, and platforms connect to shape customer outcomes.

With a leadership style focused on coaching, motivation, and purpose-led engagement, Chris continues to drive innovation and impact in the customer experience space, ensuring QTAC meets the evolving needs of students, schools, and the wider community.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Management from Federation University.

Mitch Miller

Mitch Miller is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at QTAC, bringing extensive experience across both the education and local government sectors. With a strong track record in digital transformation and operational improvement, Mitch has built his career on driving innovation through technology.

Following nearly a decade in the education sector, Mitch returned to local government in 2019, serving as CIO at Bundaberg Regional Council and later Redland City Council. In these roles, he led strategic initiatives focused on automation, agile delivery, and continuous improvement—principles that remain central to his leadership style. His forward-thinking approach to cloud technologies has helped organisations reduce reliance on traditional infrastructure and redirect focus toward solving meaningful challenges.

At QTAC, Mitch continues to lead with a people-first, technology-enabled mindset—ensuring digital solutions improve accessibility, efficiency, and outcomes across the tertiary admissions landscape.

Mitch holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Science and Interactive Web Development) from Griffith University and a Master of Information Technology (Internet and Network Security) from CQUniversity.
