Your QTAC Application Starts Here

A new admissions period is here, which means it’s time to start thinking about your next step. Whether you’re applying for the first time or updating your plans, taking a little extra time before you hit submit can make the process much smoother.

Here are a few key things to keep in mind.

Before You Start

A successful application starts with good preparation. Before you begin, spend some time exploring your course options and make sure you understand the admission requirements for the courses you’re interested in. Check for any prerequisites, key dates, early closing dates or additional requirements such as portfolios or personal statements. You can stay on top of important deadlines throughout the admissions period by keeping an eye on Key Dates.

When you’re ready to apply, create or log in to your Application Services account to start your QTAC Application. It’s worth gathering everything you’ll need before you apply so make sure you have details of all your qualifications ready to include in your application, even those you’re still completing. If you’re eligible for a Unique Student Identifier (USI), you’ll also need this before submitting your application.

Ready to Apply

When you’re ready to submit your application, think carefully about your preferences. You can list up to six courses, so use them wisely.

A good approach is to include:

  • Your dream courses as your first preferences.
  • A couple of strong backup options.
  • Pathway or enabling courses that could help you reach your long-term study goals if needed.

Once you’ve completed your application, upload any required supporting documents as early as possible. Missing documentation can delay your application or affect your eligibility for offers.

Before You Finish

Before you click submit, take one final look through your application. Double-check that your qualifications, preferences and personal details are correct, and make sure you’ve included everything required.

After you’ve applied, keep an eye on your emails and your QTAC account. If QTAC requests additional information, responding promptly will help keep your application on track.

When offers are released, don’t forget to respond before the deadline. If you receive an offer, be sure to check your institution’s enrolment dates and requirements so you don’t miss your chance to secure your place.

Go anywhere. Dream big.

QTAC ATAR Portal

Current Queensland Year 12 students: Don’t forget that your ATAR Portal account is separate from your QTAC application. To receive your ATAR, you’ll need to register for the ATAR Portal as well as submit your QTAC application. Registering for one does not automatically register you for the other, so be sure to complete both.
