Course outline

Want to start a career pathway in education but not ready to commit to a full four-year undergraduate teacher education program? Do you enjoy working with young children in their education journey? This program gives you an introduction to Education and the professional work of early childhood educators and supports your development of foundational skills and knowledge for teaching in early education settings. It will provide a first step in supporting your further enrolment into the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program that will qualify you to become an early childhood educator as well

Note

Students will complete a 5 day Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) within this program, students must have a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or link their existing Blue Card to UniSC – University of the Sunshine Coast. On successful completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Education (Early Childhood), and subject to meeting all other entry criteria, you may receive up to 48 units of credit towards UniSC – University of the Sunshine Coast’s Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program.

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years
