This course will and kickstart a teaching career to become a vital role-model, entrusted with educating and inspiring future generations. It is an initial teacher education course suitable if students already hold a non-education three-year bachelor degree. This course will enable you to teach across the Australian Curriculum in the Preparatory Year to Year 6 in Australian primary schools. This course will equip students with the appropriate evidence to apply for provisional teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, the administering body in Queensland. The design of this course utilises CQUniversity’s three-term structure, allowing you to fast-track your studies and complete the full masters course in one and a half years, full-time. To be eligible for teacher registration, students in this course are required to undertake and pass the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Educators (LANTITE) prior to graduation.

Completion of Year 12 or attained age 17 years; LANTITE Literacy status; LANTITE Numeracy status; Prior study; Teaching Personal Statement; Teaching area study requirements
Applicants must hold a completed 3 year non-education Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree, or overseas equivalent qualification, with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0 which has been completed with the last 10 years*.
Within the completed Bachelor degree, applicants must have successfully completed at least 8 units (1year full-time equivalent study) relevant to either one, or a combination, of the learning areas from the primary school curriculum. The learning areas are, English, Mathematics Science, History, Geography, The Arts, Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Health and Physical Education and Technologies.
*Degrees must have been completed/conferred with the last 10 years from the date of term commencement for the relevant intake term. Applicants who completed their Bachelor degree ten or more years ago will need to supply letter/s of employment demonstrating professional experience in the same area as their undergraduate degree. Letters of employment must be presented on a company letterhead as well as signed and dated by a delegated authority. The letter must contain position title, duties performed and length of service.
