Course outline

In the higher education diploma year, students develop fundamental academic skills and cement their knowledge in foundation subjects and core concepts skills needed for a career in health. On successful completion of the diploma be ready to progress into the Griffith University Bachelor of Paramedicine with 40 credit points. This degree will prepare you to work as a paramedic in a range of settings. Be prepared to work with individuals, groups and communities in and out of the hospital setting to achieve positive outcomes for patients. Develop foundation knowledge in human body systems, general paramedic practice, management of a variety of conditions and situations including trauma, medical, mental health, maternity, and major incident management. Progression to the bachelor’s degree is limited to a quota of five places per intake and is subject to student results.
