Course outline

This degree provides students with both broad and specialised knowledge of Australian society and the Australian welfare state, as well as the nature of social issues. Studies include topics such as psychology, social justice and social policy. Students gain practical skills through supervised field experience totalling 1000 hours. Note

All students must attend face-to-face, on-campus workshops for 20 days or more each year.

Combined diploma/degrees

This course can be combined with the following courses at TAFE Qld: D Alcohol and Other Drugs; D Child, Youth and Family Intervention; D Community Services; D Counselling; D Community Development; D Youth Work; AdvD Community Sector Management. Refer to entry for the diploma under TAFE Qld.

Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); Completion of Year 12 or attained age 18 years
