Course outline

This program provides students with knowledge and skills in health, fitness and athletic performance. It provides an understanding of basic and applied sciences in various contexts including healthy ageing, chronic disease prevention, health promotion and elite sport performance. Students study anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, motor learning and control, exercise and sport psychology as well as exercise prescription and planning. This program provides a pathway to postgraduate studies at Bond University in physiotherapy and nutrition and dietetic practice. Other requirements

Students must undertake a minimum of 140 hours of practical experience in a variety of sport, exercise and healthcare environments.

Prerequisites

English (4,SA); Maths A or equivalent (4,SA); one of Physical Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science21 or equivalent (4,SA). Completion of Year 12 with OP 12 equivalent or better. Applicants with post-secondary studies will also be considered (refer to Admissions Criteria on the Bond University website). An admission pathway is available for this program.
