Course outline

This double degree allows you to combine their interests in education and business. You are prepared to be secondary school teachers in two teaching areas, one being business and the other English, geography, history,or mathematics. You undertake professional placement as part of the education component of the course, gaining the hands-on-experience to succeed in their teaching career. The Bachelor of Business is uniquely designed to inspire you to realise your full potential, to think entrepreneurially and to ethically and sustainably shape the future of 21st century business. You will develop core business capabilities and undertake focused and authentic study in your chosen business discipline, engaging with the real world of business to ignite your professional career. This course gives you the skills and knowledge you need to work effectively in school, private and public settings. As a graduate, you can work as teachers, accountants, marketers, economists and managers, trainers in industry, or educational leaders. Entrepreneurial capabilities can equip you to develop enterprises for social benefit or products for the education profession.

Prerequisites

English, Literature, English and Literature Extension or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 and 4, C); General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 and 4, C); Applicant must be 16; Completion of Year 12 or attained age 18 years; LANTITE Literacy status; LANTITE Numeracy status; Teaching Personal Statement

Additional entry requirements

Applicants who have failed two or more attempts of either component of the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students, and have not passed it in a later attempt, are not eligible for entry.
