Dr John Griffiths commenced the role of Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre in 2011.
Engaged fully in Australia’s education industry, John is the current Chair of the Australasian Conference of Tertiary Admission Centres (ACTAC) and a former member of the Senior Review Steering Committee of the Queensland Assessment and Curriculum Authority (QCAA). Shortly after his appointment at QTAC, John was a key member of the transformational Queensland Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance Implementation Ministerial Taskforce for the Queensland Government (2015 -2021).
John’s professional career has its roots in education in Australia and education, government and defence in New Zealand. Previously as the Assistant Vice Chancellor at Massey University in Taranaki, Wanganui & Manawatu, New Zealand (2006-2011), John had commercial, innovation, strategic and operational accountabilities at Massey University, Massey Ventures Limited and the New Zealand School of Music (a joint venture between Massey University and Victoria University).
His portfolios spanned from financial management, procurement, facilities management, ICT services, to strategic planning and reporting, implementation, delivery of cross-institution programs, establishing real outcomes from researcher findings and Massey University’s Foundation.
Formative years were spent in The New Zealand Treasury managing the Defence portfolio (1993-1998) and then John progressed to General manager, Corporate of the New Zealand Defence Force. (1998-2006).
